Daniel Weimann
Principal & Co-Founder
As a Co-founder of Cube 216, Daniel specializes in new media design as well as the traditional world of print. His expansive background covers design (Web and Print), illustration, animation, and video. Able to deal with both the technical and aesthetic aspects of the Web, he creates progressive online experiences. He is well balanced and able to provide a complete solution for clients with his experience with corporate ID and branding, business collateral, Web and new media design, sales and promotional materials, and more. In short, he can provide a complete on-and-offline presence, which ensures consistent brand-identity across mediums.
As a Senior Designer at Enluminent/eStudio, Daniel worked on a
variety of demanding projects, covering a wide range of problems
and solutions. Daniel also worked on some of the precursor eStudio
original content projects, including Internet Killed the Video
Star, a major hit on Shockwave.com. His experience in cross browser environments and graphics
optimization meant that he advised or worked on some of the toughest
projects the studio encountered.
Prior to his job at Enluminent, he served as a Graphic Artist for
Netscape Communications Corp. in the Web Site Operations (formerly
e-marketing) department. His work was an integral part of the development
of Netscape's homepage (www.netscape.com), a site that routinely
scaled from ten's to hundred's of millions of hits per day, and
the department's Intranet. He was also one of the principle authors
of the company's graphic and HTML standards for the Website. His
experience at Netscape taught him the underlying principles behind
the browsers and the necessity for optimization in design.
Daniel has been a freelance artist, working on a diverse range
of skills from print and Web design to character design, illustration,
and animation. His own design efforts have been recognized in PC
Magazine's Personal Web Page Contest. He holds a BA in Computer
and Video Imaging (CVI) from Cogswell Polytechnical College.
