Donald Paul Weimann
Business Advisor
Donald Weimann is a retired Information Technology specialist.
For many years, he was an internal, enterprise-wide consultant
for Chevron Information Technology Company, the information technology
arm of ChevronTexaco Corporation. He consulted on hundreds of
business computing applications. He has a successful history of
finding how to deploy emerging technology for practical business
usage. His most recent experience was with all aspects of corporate
portals, mostly using Plumtree Software. This has meant leading
the Chevron effort in learning the underlying technologies, doing
vendor evaluations, ascertaining Chevron’s business requirements,
and working on pilot applications.
Previously, he was involved with all areas of application design
and delivery: analysis, project management, standards, architecture,
user interface, and programming. This has entailed many database
applications on mainframe, client/server, and web platforms.
Since 1980, he has attended 2-5 technical conferences per year
on many IT topics and technologies. He has served on customer
advisory boards for three software vendors including Plumtree,
and given presentations widely, both at internal and external
forums.
He has a B. S. in Chemical Engineering from the University of
Michigan and a M. S. in Chemical Engineering from the University
of Pennsylvania. Prior to IT work, he worked as a process design
engineer and a refinery planner/economic analyst.
